About The Embassy

Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of Nigeria to Ethiopia, with concurrent accreditation to Djibouti, and Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the African Union and UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa. While we uphold and promote Nigeria’s national interest at the African Union and UNECA at the Embassy of Nigeria in Addis Ababa, we also strive to deliver effective and qualitative consular and visa services to Nigerian Citizens in Ethiopia and Djibouti, and intending visitors to Nigeria.


The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Addis Ababa is located at Senegal Street, W-9, K-21, Embassy Complex, Gulele KK, Kebele- 06, H No. 001. The Mission is headed by an Ambassador/Permanent Representative and supported by a Deputy Head of Mission with other Diplomatic and Supporting Staff. The Embassy serves as the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the Africa Union and UNECA and doubles as the gateway for Nigeria’s diplomatic relation with Ethiopia and Djibouti. The Mission is committed to providing Consular, Immigration, and other services to Nigerians in Ethiopia and Djibouti.

The Mission is also engaged in representational duties on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on political, economic, social educational, humanitarian, cultural, and other global issues including promoting trade ties and supporting new avenues for economic partnership between Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Nigeria.

We provide relevant information on the business, tourism, humanitarian, entertainment, etc to Ethiopians who are interested in knowing more about Nigeria which is abundantly endowed with natural and human resources.

Nigeria has enormous potentials for rapid growth, as huge opportunities for investment abound in Agriculture, Energy, Infrastructure, Financial Services, Tourism, Education, Information and Communications Technology, amongst others.

As the most populous country on the African continent, Nigeria provides the gateway to other African markets, especially those within the West Africa sub-region. These, alongside Government’s sustained efforts to create a robust business environment, make Nigeria a preferred investment and tourism destination in Africa.


Dedicated to upholding the vital national interests of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the promotion of African Integration and unity, international cooperation for the consolidation of Global Peace, Security, a just world economic order, and democratic values, at the African Union, through the implementation of Nigeria’s Foreign Policy objectives for the benefit of the nation. We are also committed to promoting stronger bilateral relations between Nigeria and Ethiopia and Nigeria and Djibouti, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and international cooperation.


To build a strong and effective diplomatic representation that is knowledge-based and technology-driven in service delivery, in the pursuit of Nigeria’s interests and foreign policy goals and objectives in the African Union, and UNECA and guarantee the dignity of Nigerian citizens, in Ethiopia and Djibouti.
